Book Review #15 - Behaya
Book : Behaya
Author : Vineeta Asthana
The book highlights the story of working women and the dilemma they face in the shades and facets of the society and the societal norms and beliefs. What usually appears from outside is far from reality and truth. Many women in our society bear atrocities against them and they are petrified to act fearing the consequences and the views of the people around. But eventually, what matters is that a woman must fight against them and stand for herself to attain the righteousness and justice. In a similar way, even men can be a victim to women who attempt to use them, threaten them for their own selfish motives.
πWhat is my take on this?
I loved the portrayal and the character of Siya and Abhigyan. It was a wonder how beautifully the flow was narrated and that kept me etched to the book throughout. It connected me so well with the characters and I could reflect with certain happenings in my life as well. It's a great and an inspiring read, with a tint of romance as well. I adored certain things explained in the book about 'soulmates' , 'platonic' relationships, it was pure and heartwarming. It poses certain questions on relationships that appear perfect but envelops forbidden reality.
πWhat are my thoughts on the title and cover?
The cover is attractive that is artistically done in a painting or portrait look and the title is apt.
πWhat'd be one thing that’s most captivating?
It's an eye-opener and a book one must read once.
