Book Review #9 - The Devotion Of Suspect X

Book : The Devotion Of Suspect X

Author : Keigo Higashino

The mathematician and genius Ishigami creates a plan to cover-up a murder committed by Yasuko, a single mother. He goes out of his way to distract the detectives and keep them from knowing the truth. He tampers the exact situation in a way, that it raises many questions in the mind of lead detective Kusanagi. When he is perplexed with it, he approaches Yukawa, a physicist and another genius. His rational ways of problem-solving are described wonderfully. It turns out that Yukawa knows Ishigami from his college days, and he used to call him 'Buddha' back then.
Will he be able to uncover the truth?

🌟What is my take on this?

This is my first novel by the author and I must say I am very much enticed and would love to read more of his books, especially when it is about Japanese literature. This beautifully crafted novel will steal your mind and will enthrall you. The story-telling technique is very beautiful.

🌟What are my thoughts on the title and cover?

The title is mysterious and so is the cover.

🌟What'd be one thing that’s most captivating?

This one is must-read for 'thriller' genre lovers.
