Book Review #5 - Yakshini

Book : Yakshini

Author : Neil D'Silva

The book belongs to a mythological, supernatural genre based on the life of a girl Meenakshi. She is not like her other 6 sisters, there is something different, strange and weird about her. As she grows to her adolescence, she begins to feel the change in her demeanor and so does her parents. A very beautiful girl, mystical and mysterious is obnoxious to men around her. If they have lecherous intentions for her, she leaves them into shards. The story highlights many such bizarre incidents.

🌟What is my take on this?

The narration is good, and a great use of diction and language. While, most of the plot is an easy and a predictable read, I liked the story that forms the basis and the reason behind it all.

🌟What are my thoughts on the title and cover?

The title is precise, the art on the cover is very appealing.

🌟What'd be one thing that’s most captivating?

The writing style of author is commendable. As he takes you through the fag end, you will be engulfed in curiosity.

It's a good read. However, I found it predictable and it wasn't a very unique read for me. If you like  supernatural genre, then go for it.
